This partnership marks an exciting step forward in strengthening market opportunities between Cambodia and Japan in the creative industry

Meeting between Cambodia-Japan Kibou Association (CJKA)15 and Kansai Economic Federation (KEF) on October 15

On Tuesday, 26th November 2024, the Cambodia-Japan Kibou Association (CJKA) in collaboration with Khmer Student Association in Kansai (KSAK) organized a charity event by distributing educational materials and library equipment to Preak Ko Thmey Primary School which locates in Phum Leang Dai, Srok Angkor Thom, Siem Reap Province.

All materials are donated by Cambodian who are living in Japan and Japanese through KSAK, the Board of Directors of CJKA, and those materials are included as follow:

  • 4 tables for library

  • 1 bookshelf

  • Books and reading materials

  • 150 sets of books, pencils, pencil sharpeners, pens, erasers, rulers

  • Cash donation for outstanding students, teachers and principals

  • Sport equipments and snacks for students

In which, a total of 115 students, 4 teachers and 1 school principal.

It should also be noted that this charity event of the Cambodia-Japan Kibou Association are to promote the education of Cambodian children who are the future seed of Cambodia.

Finally, our association would like to appreciate school principle and teachers for facilitating this event to progress smoothly.

Meeting between Cambodia-Japan Kibou Association (CJKA)15 and Kansai Economic Federation (KEF) on October 15

In December 2023, Prime Minister HUN MANET met with the President of the Kansai Economic Federation (KEF), one of Japan’s largest business associations with over 1,300 member companies. KEF pledged to strengthen cooperation in investment, economic development, and bilateral relations with Cambodia, working closely with Minister HENG SOUR.

As the Executive Committee Chair of CJKA, H.E NGOUV HAYLIANG arranged a productive meeting with the Head of KEF’s International Division to discuss a potential Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between CJKA and KEF.

Key Outcomes of the Meeting:

• Both organizations committed to fostering greater collaboration between Cambodia and Japan.

• KEF acknowledged Cambodia’s investment potential but highlighted the challenges their members operating in the region faced.

Together, we aim to create more growth opportunities and strengthen the partnership between both countries. Stay tuned for more updates on this exciting collaboration!

The Executive Committee Chair, H.E. Ngouv Hayliang, Attends Meeting with Asakuchi Mayor and Entrepreneurs from Eight Companies on October 15

It has been six months since the visit of Asakuchi City officials and representative entrepreneurs to Cambodia, where they met with H.E. Heng Sour, the Minister of Labour and Vocational Training. During that visit, Mr. Kuriyama, the Mayor of Asakuchi City, committed to expanding opportunities for Cambodian intern trainees in the local labor market and establishing a support center for Cambodian workers in the city. We share a common goal of creating a “Cambodian Town” in Asakuchi City.
 

On the 15th of October, As the Executive Committee Chair of Cambodia-Japan Kibou Association (CJKA), H.E Ngouv Hayliang has the opportunity to attend a meeting with the Mayor of Asakuchi City and entrepreneurs from eight companies. The city presented the findings from a recent survey conducted with 14 companies to gauge the demand for Cambodian intern trainees. The results were promising:

• 90% of the companies expressed a willingness to accept Cambodian intern trainees, although some concerns were raised about language barriers and differences in working culture.

• 70% of the companies expressed interest in participating in a business trip to Cambodia to explore further opportunities in business and investment.

CJKA is working closely and actively with Asakuchi City to ensure the success of this initiative.

Report on Co-organizing the “Cambodia Investment Environment Seminar” at the “Overseas Business Expansion Exhibition” on October 18th in Tokyo, Japan

On October 18th, 2024, the Cambodia-Japan Kibou Association (CJKA), in collaboration with Nikkan Mirai Business Co., Ltd, and the Royal Embassy of the Kingdom of Cambodia in Japan, successfully co-organized the “Seminar on Cambodia Investment Environment” during the “Overseas Business Expansion Exhibition” in Tokyo, Japan. The event saw the participation of 40 companies.

​​We were honored by the presence of H.E. Mr. Tuy Ry, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Cambodia to Japan, as well as Mr. Sin Saray, Commerce Attaché, and Mr. Kao Nirooth, Labour Attaché.

The seminar aimed to:

• Provide insights into Cambodia’s investment climate

• Highlight incentives and benefits for investors

• Promote bilateral economic cooperation

• Showcase success stories of successful investments in Cambodia

Cambodia-Japan Kibou Association (CJKA) recently sent two staff members to participate in the MMAP Training Program hosted by Mangrove Studio, focusing on Marketing Foundations, Strategic Planning, and Integrated Campaign Management to dive deep into the core principles of marketing, designed specifically for SMEs!

✅ Learn strategic market analysis 
✅ Master strategic planning 
✅ Engage in interactive workshops & group discussions

This initiative aims to build the association's human resource capacity and strengthen its value in driving collaborations between Cambodia and Japan.

The course covers key areas such as marketing foundations, strategic planning, and integrated campaign management. By investing in its staff members' professional development, CJKA is positioning itself to implement more effective marketing strategies and foster stronger partnerships with stakeholders in both countries. This move reflects CJKA's commitment to human resource growth and delivering greater value in its initiatives.
